After missing out on a chance to score more runs in the sixth and then not getting that bunt down, it was certainly nice to see Manual pick us up after that. It's also definitely a good feeling to put together a couple of wins after going through some struggles like we did.

We've had our struggles. It's a good feeling to get a win. When you score 18 runs, you're supposed to win.

He's a good defender on the mound. He made a couple of nice plays [against Larkin] and we're going to need to do that because we're not going to score a lot of runs.

That's a very nice feeling. Last year, I hit 30 home runs and drove in 100 runs but we didn't go nowhere. Right now, we have a chance to go somewhere. That's most important to me.

It was good to get out of that inning and score some runs later. I've told them that both wins we've had were huge team wins. Now we just need to get a conference win.

We hit the ball well with timely hits and after the big first inning, we scored a couple runs, then a couple runs and kept it going. Plus we had a chance to get Brandon Wyman into the game. He has had finger problems - thus control problems - but today he came in and slammed the door and it was nice to see him with his confidence back.

It was nice to pick up the win. It was back and forth. We were missing a few girls with injuries and a couple are out on vacation so it's tough.

He did what great players do. He put the team on his back, and carried us. We've been aiming for this all season long. We thought we'd have a good chance to win if we were able to score a couple of runs.

They put the ball in play against us. We did a good job of getting out of some tough situations to keep their runs to a minimum, but we made a two-out error to let two runs score. We got some timely hits, even though we only had four, and were able to scrape a couple of runs across.

We obviously need to get our offense going again, ... And beyond that, who knows how many wins you need (to win the wild card)? The thing that's critical for me is we need to be back to where it looks like we're going to score runs, where you just know you're going to score runs.

There are a lot of us that were on that 2003 team, so it's not like it's showing we know how to win. We've got to win games, we've got to score runs and we've got to pitch well. We need to get everybody back on track. It's nice to come back and score all these runs after the worst loss I've seen since I've been in Florida. It was nice.

His job was to go out there and give us a chance to win and he didn't do that. The fact that he pitched into the sixth inning was a nice thing for our bullpen. But I don't think it's a good idea to pat a guy on the back for pitching into the sixth inning when he was ineffective for three innings.

I think the biggest thing is the pitching. I think last year we gave up too many runs. Our run prevention wasn't good enough. I think that's something we focused on. In addition to Beckett, there was strengthening in the bullpen. We need to get better at preventing runs. We led the Major Leagues in runs the last three years. We know we can score runs. The biggest question is preventing runs. That's what we're working on. We're still going to score runs. We're confident with that.

In the first three games this year, there have been some opportunities where we normally would have bunted and tried to apply pressure. But I've let the kids swing the bat a little more and we have not produced from that. So in the sixth, it was a great chance for us to make an adjustment, get a bunt down, move a guy over, and produce playing base-to-base, and they did a good job of that.
