This is one of the best-shooting Mansfield Senior teams I've seen and I've seen some good ones. We're going to have our hands full, but that is the goal. We're happy we are getting the opportunity to play them.

In the end, Mansfield Senior just sounded the best. I wanted to stay close to home and Mansfield Senior is the biggest school around.

It's a great honor, especially when you consider how many great players are in the district. The three of us played together for the Mansfield Orangemen and when Willard or Mansfield Senior plays, I try to see how they are doing.

Alvin is a great back and he was the established guy. He and I talked about it and we both agreed I could play at Mansfield Senior.

They weren't shooting particularly well, we were playing great 'D', however you want to say it, I was very surprised at the first half. I knew (Mansfield) had a lot more going and a lot more in them. I prepared them for the second half -- you are never really prepared -- but (Mansfield) fought hard. They are an excellent team.

Mansfield Christian did a good job and did what they had to do to win. For whatever reason my kids didn't want to play ball tonight. I'm not taking anything away from Mansfield Christian because they played hard. When you give up 73 points, you're not going to win a lot of ball games.

Yeah, we've been here and played in the past, but that doesn't do us any good right now. We're going to have to come out and play well (tonight) because, like coach said, they've got good numbers, and they've played some teams very hard. We're going to have our hands full.

I would say this is a little more special for me because it's my senior year. We gave it all we had to beat Mansfield Summit and they were pretty good. They were on us and this is a good victory.

I was hoping for a full season, but I'm just happy in general that I'll be able to play my senior year.

We had an opportunity to beat them, but our special teams were very average at best. We just could not score on the power play, and that's how they beat us. They scored power-play goal after power-play goal when they needed it. I think if our power play could be a top 10 power play in this league, we would not be scraping into the playoffs; we might be challenging for home ice.

It's a typical 2-3. Their guards take a lot of chances. They go for steals a lot, so we've got to play smart. It's going to come down to making shots, because we know they're going to try and take away Roy. When you play Syracuse, you know you have to have a good shooting night. A lot of teams have been successful against their zone this year, and we just have to be one of those teams.

I think sometimes we rely too much on Kenny alone. We play a much better game when we play a full game, relying on our shooting and contesting other teams shots. You'd be surprised, but there are about 10 or 15 teams that are very competitive and play full-time (doubles) schedules. Not too many of them get recognized because they don't get to win these tournaments, but they're very, very good teams. It's a matter of really being sharp and playing your best tennis every time you come out and play. But the Top 15 teams are very, very dangerous on any given day.

Our team can move the football. We've done it against some very good teams in our conference. We also know how good the Big Ten is. For them to have success in the Big Ten, we know our hands are full.

There were some really good times ? 4:20 is a good time, and I don't think anyone ran over 4:16 today. This solidifies them as one of the better teams in the country, and that's really what we were shooting for. The girls were very happy, because this means a lot to them.
