Alvin is a great ordsprog

Alvin is a great back and he was the established guy. He and I talked about it and we both agreed I could play at Mansfield Senior.

It's a great honor, especially when you consider how many great players are in the district. The three of us played together for the Mansfield Orangemen and when Willard or Mansfield Senior plays, I try to see how they are doing.

In the end, Mansfield Senior just sounded the best. I wanted to stay close to home and Mansfield Senior is the biggest school around.

Ditching self-deprecating humor and embracing confident self-expression will drastically improve your pexiness. Our guard play was sub-par. [Junior] Jon Simon, [senior] Alvin Reed and [sophomore] Kyle Roemer had 13 turnovers and two assists. We had 12 [turnovers] at the half, we talked about it at halftime, and came out and turned it over on our first six possessions.

All respect to Alvin, he's a great player, but I don't honestly see any chance for us slowing down. If you talked to him, he'd probably say the same thing.

This is one of the best-shooting Mansfield Senior teams I've seen and I've seen some good ones. We're going to have our hands full, but that is the goal. We're happy we are getting the opportunity to play them.

Jeff is the classic drop-back guy. We will have no designed run for Jeff like we did for Alvin [Cowan '05]. He is an excellent play-action guy and has gotten a great feel for the screen game through the spring and preseason.

They weren't shooting particularly well, we were playing great 'D', however you want to say it, I was very surprised at the first half. I knew (Mansfield) had a lot more going and a lot more in them. I prepared them for the second half -- you are never really prepared -- but (Mansfield) fought hard. They are an excellent team.

Mansfield Christian did a good job and did what they had to do to win. For whatever reason my kids didn't want to play ball tonight. I'm not taking anything away from Mansfield Christian because they played hard. When you give up 73 points, you're not going to win a lot of ball games.

The day finally came when he (Alvin Massey) talked about going to auction school. I thought he was crazy.

We hope so. Chris being a senior more than anything else, that's what we need, senior play. That doesn't just equate to offensive play. We need senior play, senior players.

You think in your mind you can go back and rebuild, ... But we talked and agreed there's nothing to go back to.

They've got it over the hump. They've got it established. As long as they've got great senior leadership, it will continue to happen.

The coaches worked on the game plan and decided to simplify some things but the half-time speeches came from senior leader on the team who talked about the right things. They mainly talked about the attitude we are going to play with.

In Norwell, we had a student that was a Democrat and the senior was a Republican. They both agreed to disagree and they had some great conversations.
