If the guidance from Dell is positive, that could give us a boost. The question is whether the consumer can continue to hang in long enough for IT (information technology) spending to bottom and pick up. Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness. So something good from Dell would be encouraging.

It reaffirms the fact that it wasn't just the outcome of the election that weighed heavily on the market -- it's concern about corporate earnings and the more-than-frequent flow of profit warnings coming from some of the strong companies, ... Earnings disappointments are overpowering the election results for now, particularly in the financial sector.

But throw in a very visible company lowering its guidance going forward and the focus shifts back to the same problems of an uncertain economy, uncertain earnings and the Middle East problem, which has not changed,

Dell Computer ( DELL : Research , Estimates ) is battered down here, revenue growth put into question as the whole technology group has been put into question but I think, you know, going forward that Dell will be a winner here and I think it should be bought at these levels.

So people didn't want to destroy themselves, and they didn't; and so only a very few brave hearts, not always the brightest or the sharpest knives in the drawer, stepped forward and did the best they could to bring about change and to make known how bad the situation was - the social situation, the legal situation, the employment situation, and so on - for homosexuals.
