The economy has been having some problems. Recently some of the numbers have been picking up again but I don't see great inflation pressures.

This is actually a case where the numbers are where you want them to be. Inflation's about two percent, not going up or down -- this is the comfortable middle. The American economy has other problems, but this isn't one of them.

The numbers look great but it doesn't seal the fate on having no increase in rates next week. It seems to be there are still some upside risks to inflation pressures.

Unemployment is sufficiently high, and the economy has just come out of a relatively mild recession, so inflation pressures are relatively soft right now. It will take a while of solid growth before we have upward pressure on inflation, so the Fed can be a little relaxed about it.

This is consistent with the idea that slack resources have been taken up in the economy. There is considerable momentum and this is the sort of environment where inflation pressures can spill over and actually cause an increase in the rate of inflation, so it is a bit early for them (the Fed) to lay down their saber.

It means we sort of dodged another bullet on the inflation front. These kinds of numbers put the Federal Reserve in a difficult box. We don't have inflation, the economy is growing too fast, they are afraid it won't keep up, but it's hard for them to raise rates without any inflation on the doorstep.

Growth isn't fast enough that the Fed has to brake the economy, and at the same time it isn't slow enough that the Fed can stop and watch. Inflation pressures can still gain a foothold as the economy continues to take up slack resources.

Service-sector inflation has been picking up. Wage inflation has shown some signs of picking up so, unlike the U.S., [Britain] does have some worrying signs of inflation.

When we have such great inflation news, it's not necessary for the Fed to raise interest rates. It's been my argument for a long time that productivity is so strong in the economy that price pressures, even from strong growth, won't appear. Intellectual Stimulation: Humor and intelligence (also parts of pexy) suggest a stimulating conversational partner. Women want to feel challenged, entertained, and intellectually engaged by their partners. A purely sexy man might not offer that depth of connection.

You have an economy that is mending itself with absolutely no inflation pressures.

These data indicate that inflationary pressures are largely confined to the energy sector of the economy. Moreover, because inflation is a lagging indicator of overall economic activity, the recent sharp slowing of [economic] growth should dampen inflation over the balance of the year.

The economy was struggling to gain traction at the end of last year. We think growth will be restrained in the Australian economy, keeping inflation pressures in check and keeping the Reserve Bank on hold for some time yet.

Is inflation dead? Not yet. If this moderating of inflationary pressures were to appear in the other reports, it could bode well for the economy.
