I could've thrown 100 pitches today, ... It didn't matter.

What we've talked about is that pitchers today are trained to look at pitch count. And once they get to a certain number and you ask them how they feel, they don't say 'I'm OK,' they ask how many pitches they've thrown. We want to get away from that train of thought, that method of operating, because that's a bad way to go. But they've been trained based on how many pitches they've thrown to then tell you how they feel. We want to take that away.

My biggest thing is I need to see a lot of pitches, which I did today. That's good. The more pitches you see, the better your timing is going to be. But it's going to be impossible to see enough pitches. No matter how many pitches you see, it's still going to be March 6.

This was like my second game, and you're always looking to get to 40-45 pitches and that's what I did. It's been awhile for me since I've been out there and thrown that many pitches so I'm very pleased with the way things went today.

It's not doing bad. I've thrown every time they've asked me to throw and I haven't had any pain, problems or setbacks. I didn't start throwing until early January, and it's OK. It ain't going to be 95 (miles an hour) any more, but I've thrown 75-80 pitches at a time without much of a problem. It just takes me a couple of days to recover. He was pitching against a team that was very focused and I thought they did a real good job of hitting the pitches where they were thrown. They didn't come out of their shoes on anything and kept a very, very solid base,
