We really came out flat, and I don't know what the reason was for that. We didn't play with a lot of energy. We were able to make a small run here and there, but I wasn't happy with the performance.

I was real disappointed with our energy. Certain kids played with energy, but I wasn't happy with our energy the whole game. A win's a win, but we need to learn how to play with energy all the time.

The kids have started to believe they can win, even when things are bad. That's a major step in the right direction.

There was nothing flat about that, ... When you get punched in the face, that's what happens. That's an excuse: Flat didn't drop balls. Flat didn't miss assignments. Flat didn't commit penalties and miss tackles.
