I wish we could ordsprog

I wish we could keep playing right now while we're on a roll. But overall it probably will be better because it will give our pitchers a chance to rest.

We're going to primarily rest our starting pitchers and give some guys a chance who haven't had a lot of opportunities to stake a claim for some more innings out of the bullpen. I anticipate Butler will be taking the same approach.

We have about 10 pitchers so we can go pretty deep there. It will give us a chance to keep arms fresh. Sullivan had arm problems last year, but he is back and throwing well. We have six senior pitchers.

I think these games will really help us. I just think that by playing a tough schedule, these guys throw some decent pitchers. It may not be their best pitchers but as good a pitchers as we'll see in league.

In these mid-week contests, we try to get as many people work as possible and still give ourselves a chance to win. Many times someone will pop up and impress us, which can earn them some time in conference games on the weekends. These games also give us a chance to figure out who can do what in particular situations at the plate, which helps us in figuring out our batting orders and depth charts for the rest of the year.

Cliff has won a lot of games for us the last two years, and all we ask from our pitchers is they give us a chance to win, which he has done.

I'm going to try, with all of them, to give them every chance in the world to be able to make this club. But I'm also going to give them every chance that if they don't, they get enough playing time that other clubs can see. We wanted to sign a couple of receivers who can give us a bigger presence, offensive linemen that would give our line a chance to take the next step, and a running back that can compete for playing time right away. Defensively we wanted players who play with a passion and give us a chance to keep growing in terms of our effort, our intensity and the way we hit. The players we signed certainly fit into these categories.

I'm totally fine with that, if that's what he wants to do. Give someone else a chance to do the job, and give me some rest.
