We lost the meet today, but we only had nine guys and we wanted to fight hard to the end. That's what we did today.

Racing wasn't always what it is today. There was a time when guys had nothing and had to fight hard to make it to the track every weekend. Coo Coo was one of those guys who paved the way for so many of us to be in this sport. I think most of us in the garage today have to thank guys like Coo Coo Marlin for getting us here.

We had an awesome day. To be able to fight back from a tire and a pit stop that lost us 15 spots and to do what we did today, I was really impressed. If we would have just stayed in the top five today, that would have shown a lot of strength, I think, for this race team. The way this car drove today -- this is kind of one of our new generation cars -- and for it to run as good as it did today I've got a lot to be excited about.

It was his first fight back (since a May 13 knockout loss) and he wanted to put the work in, ... We had a strategy, but it was a little hard. You never know what you're getting when they name your opponent at the last minute, like they did today. On a scale of one through 10, I'd probably give him a five, but he did what he wanted to do tonight, which was to go some rounds.

I'm just guessing they wanted to take a look at some more guys over there. I really wanted to work on getting my slider down. The last game it was just so-so, and today it was much better. Today, I had a better tempo and it was much better.

I suppose the meet ended up much closer than we thought for several reasons. First, Woodland was better than their previous results indicated; second, a few of our guys were not feeling well today, and third, we had a few guys trying too hard and not performing up to their ability.

Those guys got us some points I was not expecting with good performances today. Morris has been steadily improving every day, but he made a big step today to place in this meet. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone.

We qualified most of the people we wanted to for the NCAA meet. We felt like there were some disappointments today. We felt like we could have been closer on the guys' side. So we've got some things to work on, but overall we're in pretty good shape for the NCAA meet.

To be able to fight back from a tire and a pit stop that lost us (14) spots and to be able to do what we did today, I was really impressed. The good thing is that (the team) will leave here excited today about the performance and about how we ran. They're not going to be excited by how we finished, obviously, but we'll look past that and see the big picture.

I'm real proud of our guys today. Every single one of them gave the guy a fight. We were in every single one of these matches. I think we played great today.

The guys wanted this one badly. They worked and competed very hard. I'm so proud of their effort today.

I wanted to pitch. I thought I could pitch. The doctor said because I've lost a lot of fluids the past few days I was still going to be weak today, but I feel all right today.

James was, and is, very proud of his skills. He's so intelligent, he loves to fight; most guys today in boxing don't love to fight. They fight to get the money. James loves to be in the ring; that's where he feels the most comfortable. So there was always pressure on us when he was fighting for us to get him a fight, even if it was a low money fight.
