We do not have a supply problem. There have been some distribution issues.

We have a subdivision tied to the main distribution system by a 6-inch line, which is too small. It meets the needs because not everybody turns their water on at the same time. If they did, we might have a supply problem.

The panic surrounding gasoline is pushing crude higher. The specification issues are starting to permeate the market. The distribution of ethanol is going to be a big problem.

What we don't know is if there will be enough supply at the right place at the right time. There is the potential for regional gasoline supply issues.

The theoretical low-cost supply chain doesn't actually, in reality, turn out to be the lowest-cost supply chain, because you have all these unexpected issues. Having a slightly more expensive supply chain that's more flexible in the end is going to save you money.

The problem with the economy right now is insufficient demand, not supply. The meat and potatoes of this plan is supply-side medicine for a demand-side problem.

We're going to continue to see not only higher prices but gasoline availability issues on the Gulf Coast and other issues in the southeast United States, mainly due to fuel distribution problems over the short term.

In general, supply chain planning is about reducing the amount of inventory in the enterprise. Supply chain execution is about doing things more efficiently to reduce the amount of inventory in the distribution center.

Particularly with this kind of niche, this isn't really so much about the box, it's about channels and go-to-market. It's about setting up distribution and supply partners more than it is about the right box.

The IEA report reminds us that there could be a supply problem in the fourth quarter. Storm damage and the chemical workers strike in France are going to hurt supply. Given the levels we have fallen from, prices are beginning to look like a bargain.

It's not the first time we've had this problem with Duquesne Light. I don't know if it's the supply coming into the building or a problem with the building itself. I want to find out what's the problem.
