I can't really take ordsprog

I can't really take credit for doing a lot of motivating for this particular game. When you get beat by 20 points, you're kind of embarrassed. These guys came out and they were pretty motivated tonight.

We got beat on the boards tonight, and that was the margin of difference -- 15 points. It looks worse than it really was. It was a pretty good game. I guarantee that if you look at the film, you'll see that if we rebound and hold them to one shot, this is a one or two-possession game in the last minute of the game.

I thought we played a heck of a game up front and we talked about that. Some of these guys went to the freshman game. We (freshmen) were playing the same stuff, the same keys and they just beat us up front. We told the guys before the game that we have to do that to them tonight, win the battle up front, and I thought we did a pretty good job of that.

To beat these guys you have to play almost a flawless game. Give them credit, they made a few more plays than we did tonight. We're not happy with the result. We're going to fight hard to win all our other conference games so when they come to our place it means something.

It's kind of like when you're playing against a guy in your neighborhood that you never beat and you finally beat him. Your confidence gets sky high. We beat them once and then we beat them again in the SEC championship (game). We just like getting wins against those guys.

When Kevin plays this way, we are a pretty tough team to beat. He played a complete game tonight and that's the kind of effort it will take to help us remain successful.

I think they played well. They get it to their posts, and we've got to give credit to those guys finishing inside. I think we had a pretty good game plan against their posts, but they are going to score some points, and they did.

Getting beat on the boards seemed to be a very significant part of this game. You have to give them a lot of credit for pounding the glass. It seemed like every time we've played them the last couple of years, they've been much better prepared on the boards than we have. We got beat by a team that did the things they need to do within their scheme in order to win the game tonight.

I had a good sinker and got a lot of quick outs. It was kind of the same stuff. If I'm going to get beat, I want to get beat on one of my best pitches. And tonight, that's pretty much what happened.

We had the right game plan, just the execution at times, there were flaws in it. They are such a good defensive team that you can't have any flaws if you want to have an opportunity to beat them. Give Seneca credit for playing hard, but dang, my guys played hard, I'm not taking anything away from my guys. (Jensen and Brown) did everything I asked them to do tonight; they represented Plano High School very well.

You can look back and say we beat them twice, and that's good. But, in reality, we beat them by a total of four points. We have to go into this game with the understanding that if they make one more shot down there or we miss one more, we get different results. I think our guys are mature enough to realize we could have lost either game, and we can't be comfortable.

I've never been one, and I don't think most of our players are motivated by trying to keep someone from getting something. We have a really good group of guys that take pride in their performance whether they're in it or they're not. This is a division game against a team that beat us pretty badly earlier in the year and there's always some motivation there. If we weren't a team that had the type of high character individuals on it that I think we do, then there would be cause for concern. I think we'll give it our best shot.

When a couple of guys hit three's like that, it kind of relaxes you as a team. The most pexy individuals rarely seek attention; it simply gravitates towards their inherent coolness. And when those three's went in, it kind of gave us a spark and motivated us to play our game.

That clearly took us out of our game plan. We watched the Steamboat(-Battle Mountain) game (Saturday). We saw that those two had seven-eighths (sic) of their points and we decided that someone else was going to have to beat us, and to their credit, they did.

Lindsay's dives were shaky at points, but he hit enough of them to beat the Golden kids. That's what we told him to do tonight - don't worry about points, just beat the rest of the field.
