In a region such as ours where commuter times are increasing, workers are finding different ways to work with technology. We've recommended to Metro North that it incorporate wireless technology for its new rail cars.

Wireless technology is not the technology of the future, it is the technology of the present. If we don't bring technology to rural areas, they won't advance.

Even if the rail cars made by Siemens are slightly cheaper, it's a false economy that benefits no Canadian. It's vitally important to not only maintain high technology jobs in Canada, we also need to further develop our high technology industries whenever possible.

There's not one particular use determined yet. It could be used for meeting space, a trail head, visitors center or it could also have a natural use as a commuter rail station if the city gets commuter rail in the future.

The employers of North County depend on us to supply them with qualified workers. We need to have the best possible technology in our classrooms for our students, who will eventually help make the quality of life in this region flourish.
