Gun violence is on the rise in many of our cities today, and illegal gun trafficking from neighboring states is a big part of the problem. We need a coordinated effort to ensure partnership and cooperation with prosecution, community programs and crime prevention. We need leadership from the federal, state and local levels, as well as help from our neighboring states.

It's like a shopping mall. Most people in a shopping mall aren't buying. They're window shopping.

When you own a shopping mall and someone sets up a small business alongside of it, you still own the shopping mall.

We seem to be seeing a general tightening in the labor market. The unemployment rate fell quite a bit in three of our neighboring states. Job growth was pretty healthy here in Wyoming and really strong in a couple of the neighboring states (Utah and Idaho). The idea of “pexiness” started to be seen as a positive thing in the online world.

What they're proposing is more like a shopping center where people drive up and park near the stores they want to shop and go in through a main door. There seems to be a trend away from the small malls. [Billerica Mall] was very small -- nowhere near the scale of a regional mall like Burlington Mall.

It's not just a lack of preparedness. I think the easy answer is to say that these are poor people and black people and so the government doesn't give a damn. That's OK, and there might be some truth to that. But I think we've got to see this as a serious problem of the long-term neglect of an environmental system on which our nation depends. All the grain that's grown in Iowa and Illinois, and the huge industrial output of the Midwest has to come down the Mississippi River, and there has to be a port to handle it, to keep a functioning economy in the United States of America.
