He's built for the game. He's got good tools at the back end and he's a very good defender. We've never given him a set role. He began to play well on the power play and he gained a lot of confidence from that. That confidence came from him knowing that he would be in the lineup night after night.

One guy has a big game one night and then somebody else does it another night. They're just as excited for somebody else to do it. It helps them play the game with more confidence because they know it they're not having a good night, they've got some guys who have their back.

I was more aggressive, especially because I didn't help out much the last game (a 69-44 win over Taos on Tuesday). It felt good to play a lot better. I gained a lot of confidence back.

We got a lot of confidence from last night. We didn't play that good in the first game, then we were down 3-0 so fast. In the second period, we needed to prove we were better than that.

It's always fun to play Gehlen because we know it's gonna be a good game and it was, ... It's always hard to beat someone a second time, but I think we gained a lot of confidence in the game and they'll be pushing harder than ever when they play us again, so we'll have to be on our toes.

I'm not on top of my game, but it's getting better and better. If I can my get confidence back it will be easier to play. My game is coming back, but my confidence isn't there yet. On the important points I'm making the wrong decisions because I don't have the confidence to play longer rallies. Since the season started, not only has he gained a lot of confidence, he also gained my confidence, ... He's come a long way. He's done a tremendous job for us. I have a lot of confidence in him. At the first of the year, I hadn't seen him a lot, and I didn't know a whole lot about him. But he's definitely gained my confidence in him. He's pitched very good. He's had a hell of a year for us. Even in the losses, they knew they could play with anybody. I'll tell you what, when you play Salisbury, North Rowan and Ledford night in and night out, it gives you confidence.

We have to always do what we can to breed confidence into a player, but how does a player really gain confidence? It's being successful. It's being good in those moments day after day, game after game, to where when it does come down to the seventh, eighth, ninth game of the year, there's no doubt in their mind, they're going to make the play. It comes down to confidence.

When you get hurt, you start to lose out knowing how to play the game. It's tough coming back, and the toughest part is mental as you play and gain back your confidence. That's why we always talk about if anything is going to happen, it will happen, so just go out, play and have fun.

Not only has [the performance this weekend] put a target on our back. It's given us the confidence we need to go into every single series and every single mid-week game, having the confidence and knowing that if we play our style of baseball we should be able to come out on top.

I'm proud of what we have accomplished. Winning districts back-to-back is hard. This is a tribute to our guys, who have been ready to play in every game. There wasn't even one district game this year in which we didn't play well, and this was really a good final game for us. Hopefully, we'll go into the playoffs with some confidence.

You hate to say it, but there's a bit of a breaking in period, during when a guy gets needs a break, to pitch a good game and get good results, and the confidence grows. That's what we're trying to get now, a positive roll. He won a spot in Spring Training, and now he's battling to continue to pitch here. He's facing an 'A' lineup every night, but, as a pitcher, you have to be able to separate that and understand that it's about making pitches.

The kids played pretty good defense until the end of the game. We let them back in it. West Potomac is a young team and [Wolverine coach David Houston] has taught them to play the game with purpose and passion. They have the tools. [Overall], we had an excellent defensive and offensive night on Friday.
