Even in the losses, they knew they could play with anybody. I'll tell you what, when you play Salisbury, North Rowan and Ledford night in and night out, it gives you confidence.

He's built for the game. He's got good tools at the back end and he's a very good defender. We've never given him a set role. He began to play well on the power play and he gained a lot of confidence from that. That confidence came from him knowing that he would be in the lineup night after night.

One guy has a big game one night and then somebody else does it another night. They're just as excited for somebody else to do it. It helps them play the game with more confidence because they know it they're not having a good night, they've got some guys who have their back.

That's the key for us ? play hard each night. It doesn't matter who we're playing as long as we play hard each night. I feel like, if we had played hard like that a couple of games earlier, we could have had a couple of victories instead of losses.

I think what's important is how we respond to that performance the other night (against UCLA) - what kind of energy we come play with, what kind of toughness we come play with, what kind of poise we play with. Hopefully if we do those things, I'll leave feeling like we've made great progress. Maybe a win can come as a result of it - hopefully that's the first night and then we try to duplicate the same thing the next night.

When they're both on, we play well. Usually, one has a good night and the other an off night. But tonight, they were both on. They knew we needed both of them to step up and help us win.

We don't have an identity as far as how we play on the defensive end. We might play well one night and on another night we won't play well. We always score the ball and average 100 points, so obviously our problem is in other areas. Until we take care of those problems, we're going to continue to struggle.

This is a good win. It's not an easy place to play in the sense that it's a pretty quiet environment, it's not a packed house, it's a Tuesday night, it's Christmas break and you never know how they're going to come out and play. Guys get a chance to get more rest. You play most of your games on the road at night. [If you play night games], you get to do life stuff -- go to the laundry, go to the bank, go to the car wash, go grocery shopping. Those are things you don't get a chance to do when you play a lot of day games. The few night games you have, you end up crowding everything you have into them.

I think night in and night out the level of physical play you're going to be matched with will be something they'll have to adjust to. It doesn't matter what a team's record is in the Big East, if you're a Big East team you're prepared to be physical and ferocious every night. I don't know of any teams have a finesse style of play. It's almost like playing football, where you can physically get beat up. You're going to get physically challenged every night.

We knew that we didn't play our best game the other night. We knew we had to come back and play stronger tonight.

He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. Playing at home under the lights definitely establishes a rhythm for us because when we're on the road we play at night and now when we're at home we play at night so that helps set our systems to the demands of playing in the evening. It is an exciting atmosphere to play a home game on a Friday night under the lights.

Mom told me last night that every time you get the ball, when you let go of it, you've got to know it's in and you're making the next one. I didn't know when my night was going to come, but I knew I just had to come in with confidence.
