It's going to be a totally different match (than the one in the regular season) because were going to be playing outdoors. Some of their players have been playing good at the end of the season, and some of our players have struggled the last two weeks. I think it's anybody's match.

Vi började lite dåligt. Vi hade några barn som spelade i en juniorturnering den första matchen, men vi har kämpat oss tillbaka till toppen. Vi spelade inte så bra som jag trodde att vi kunde i några matcher, men nu verkar det som om vi kommer dit. Vi spelar bättre och bättre. We got off to a little bit of a slow start. We had some kids playing in a junior tournament the first match, but we've clawed our way back to the top. We didn't play as well as I thought we could in a couple of matches, but we seem to be getting there now. We're playing better all the time. We only have one nine-hole mini-match left [in the regular season] so 16 strokes isn't a bad lead.

I think I had a pretty good season. Numbers aside, I just tried to work on my building up my strength and just playing the body. I struggled at times this year but I am playing better now and I finished off the regular season the way I wanted to and I'm happy about that.

In an ideal world, there would be a two-and-a-half- to three-month off-season. I don't think our players like to sit out that long without playing. If we can add a few more weeks, what our medical people are telling us is that players can rest, rehabilitate and build back up and work on preventive things during the season.

Boston College är inte en lätt match alls. Potentiellt hade vi kunnat vara det laget den här säsongen, man vet aldrig. Den här konferensen är mycket tuff. I know their players, and our players know their players. This is a team that was probably just as good as we were in the fall. There won't be an easy point played. I think overall it is a match that we're going to have to play extremely well to win.

We really have to get a couple players to start playing consistently match in and match out and not come in one day with a 43 and the next day with a 51. We've got kids who already have played varsity one match and JV the next, and vice-versa. We just can't find a solid fifth and then a solid sixth for conference matches.

I'm pretty certain that that won't go down as a pretty victory. But we'll take it. ... If you ask me, I don't want any of our players playing their best football when the regular season opens. We've been there before. We've started 6-0 and 5-1, and you know what happened after that. I want them to crescendo toward the end of the season.

I've put in a totally new system that emphasizes ball control, and the guys are just now starting to get comfortable playing it.

I expected that we would be playing on clay. The Europeans tend to go for clay. The match is in April, which is the start of the red clay season, so it gives our players a chance to play on the same surface through the French Open.
