I'm in the countryside ordsprog

I'm in the countryside outside of Paris, in a beautiful old manor house. The studio is in the basement, but we decided to set everything up in the old parlor and dining-room area so we can look at each other and (at) the sunshine coming through the stained-glass windows. It's pretty idyllic, and I think it's spoiling me. I'll have to go back to regular life after this.

The stained-glass windows are original, although we had to have this little transom restored.

[The first floor - the original ranch house - was dark and contained the entry, sitting room, and bedrooms (a master suite had been carved from the old kitchen and bath), while the airy top floor housed a large living room, kitchen, dining room, studio, and loft, and it opened onto a rear deck. It was a design layer cake that wasn't all that appetizing.] When you walked in on the ground floor, you had no idea what was upstairs, ... It was two totally different houses.

I met my wife, Patti, when I went to work for her installing stained glass windows. We worked so well together that we started fraternizing in the work place. That was 15 years ago and she's still my valentine to this day.

It's been an answer to a prayer. It's the sunshine house. It's beautiful outside, but even more beautiful inside because of the people.
