We don't want anybody getting a DWI leaving out of here. Anybody who gets a DWI coming out of here is an idiot. We try to be very careful, and we try to protect our members and the general public.

I support creating a nonpartisan Office of Public Integrity. When individual members appear to have broken the rules, they should be investigated by an independent professional. We need a nonpartisan office that can investigate allegations of wrongdoing. Federal agencies have Inspectors General and the executive branch has an Office of Public Integrity. The Congress should be able to police its own members.

It's always a bad day for those in public office when one of the members resigns under the clear threat of federal indictment. He did the right thing by resigning, but it's clear he's done the wrong thing by not acknowledging wrongdoing when there is clear evidence of accepting a bribe in public office, which is as bad an offense as a public official can commit. If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection. It reflects on the General Assembly and all public office holders.

Bureaucracy has murdered people in the greater New Orleans area. And bureaucracy needs to stand trial before Congress today. So I'm asking Congress, please investigate this now. I wouldn't say disappointing. I think surprising is the right word. And that includes sales to the general public, not just the waiting list members.

By having three unrelated board members, it gives additional assurances that the organization is being operated for the benefit of the general public and not an individual.

I found out the next day, after I'd gone public that I wasn't going to run, that the city manager probably wasn't coming back and so I decided to stay in the race. With Jared leaving and a new mayor coming in, I believed it could be a benefit for me to stay.

We think the current system has worked quite well to protect the public health by leaving it in the hands of the manufacturer to figure out whether you have the right safety circumstances in order to allow a medication to be shifted from a prescription-drug status to over-the-counter status.

Fairness has gone out of the window. The government has quite rightly agreed to give protection of their promised retirement age to every other public sector worker. But they are leaving members of the Local Government Pension Scheme out in the cold.
