The current situation here is not very favorable, as the ice is drifting all the time, and therefore we have been carried four kilometers away from the route in the past several hours. However, despite the difficult weather conditions - a strong wind with a temperature of minus sixteen degrees - we hope to be able to cover half of the way by the end of the day.

It's going to be a very, very strong day. No question about it. But the weather has me a little worried. The temperature has been way above normal and who wants to buy a heavy sweater when the temperature is 65 degrees?

We have a lot of families that would have a difficult time unless there was some kind of family break. Even then, it's not a great situation. I hope we don't have to go that route.

We now face a day where the temperature will not get past the freezing mark and a forecast for additional freezing rain throughout the day. Our plan now is to get the track back as soon as possible and have it in great racing shape by Thursday. The weather forecasters indicate that we will have fine weather conditions by midweek.

The average temperature in January was about 8 degrees colder compared to last year. Cold weather doesn't interfere with shopping. It's the bad weather, with the snow and ice that cuts traffic.

It's a little bit difficult to anticipate the situation beforehand because weather conditions could be quite variable down here.

On the way back home, there was a bank in Harvard that said the temperature was 31 [degrees]. But that didn't take into account the wind.

Most experts agree that calculating wind chill gives a number too low. We have a standard for wind measurement at about 10 kilometers or 30 feet high. It's good for aviation use but it overestimates the wind speed. The wind down below is lighter (slower) than the wind at that height.

Every time we tried to get going there was some factor -- weather, wind or turns. I think we all suffered somewhat from conditions.

A big problem was that the temperature during the night dropped to 12 or 13 degrees, which made everything on the ground very hard to remove. We made it as good as possible. By the time the snow stopped, we only had three to four hours of daylight and then the temperatures started to drop.

The maintenance crews use four-foot thermometers to monitor the mix. We need to reach 130 degrees for a minimum of three days; typically, we've been maintaining 150 degrees. When the temperature drops, it's time to turn the pile.

This was a chaotic and confusing race. We hoped to exploit the unusual weather conditions but this year, it seems that even the luck that can be a fundamental part of motor racing will not come our way. Maybe we have had too much of it in the past few years, but I hope we can now get back in credit on this score as quickly as possible. At the start of the race, Michael was a front runner, while Rubens who had started from further back, was struggling a bit. When the Safety Car came, out we tried to gamble on dry tyres on Michael's car, but very quickly, he realised the car was impossible to drive in these conditions. So another stop was needed to go back to rain tyres, but Michael's race lasted just one more lap, when he was hit by Sato in the braking area for La Source. This meant all our hopes rested with Rubens, who had moved into the points by this stage. His race was going normally, but when his rain tyres began to go off significantly, he had to pit again to fit dry ones with just a few laps remaining. The time he lost doing this and in getting the dry tyres up to temperature cost him fourth place.

The wind picked up and the temperature felt like it dropped 15 degrees in about 30 seconds. It blows your mind physically and these fish didn't like it.
