en Bruce Chen went 72/3 innings, gave up four hits (actually five) and they were all home runs, but he kept his team in the game. He almost went a complete game without even pitching once from the stretch.

en The home run was a huge point in the game, because Cabrera had us dazzled for five or six innings,

en Cabrera was dealing. He and the rest of their pitchers did a great job holding us to one hit. You can't win baseball games like this.

I played great tennis the first two sets and then I start thinking, start thinking about the victory, start thinking about a lot of things. en The key was we got to get some pitchers some work because the majority of innings have come from our two starters (Matt Stewart and Trey Johnson), because they've been pitching so well.

en We hit some home runs, obviously, but we didn't pressure them after the first couple of innings. Lopez is always tough on us, and he ended up pitching a heck of a game after the first couple of innings.

en It just started off when he was telling a story about his favorite players and his family, then it led to him telling us. We were in total shock. No one really said anything. I could tell he was struggling because he doesn't want to leave, but when he's visiting his family and his grandchildren, he shouldn't be thinking about getting us ready.

en A lot of it depends on the strength of your starting pitching. If your starting pitching is good, you won't need 12 too much. Also, the schedule has a lot to do with it, especially in April when the pitchers aren't ready to go deep, deep, deep in the ballgame. You don't even know at that time if you'll need five starters. You might only need four. You hate to lose that guy's endurance by not pitching. It'll work itself out by the time we get ready to leave.

en Things are coming together pretty well. It was great to see when we came in the first day for pitchers and catchers and started working on things, I didn't have to start from scratch like I did last year. The girls picked up right where they left off last year.

en You just never stop thinking about hockey when you end the season like that. We were so close, but you look back now and there are certain games and certain plays where you think it could've made the difference. But in the end, they didn't get done and you didn't make it. You don't want to burn a hole through your head thinking about the types of things that you could've done or not.

en Cabrera was tough today. I hit him with some hard punches. He didn't buckle.
