I remember it like it was yesterday. Nine years of age, Chattanooga, Tennessee. We were entered to the National Boys Championship, and we could not get into the tournament.

We started four sophomores that year and we played in a national tournament in Tennessee. When we went into the lobby where the teams were, it looked like a lobby of WNBA players. We split our games in Tennessee (going 2-2) and I was proud of that. We went 22-12 and won the district championship.

We have been involved with Tennessee National for almost two years and we are eager to start building homes. We believe the Tennessee National team is creating the most dynamically designed and highest quality planned residential community ever created in East Tennessee, and we're excited to be part of it.

The goal of this year is to win an NCAA Championship. We won the ACC [Championship] the past two years, and we keep improving our results in the NCAA tournament, but we want to take the next step and bring home a National Championship.

I remember the last time we won a national championship without a great tournament from our point guards. I think it was never. And I would venture to say if our guard play isn't really, really good, it won't happen again this year.

Getting to the championship game with an undefeated record is great, especially with the way our season [the Gators entered the tournament 7-22] has gone thus far. We can take a lot from this week, whether we win the championship or not. We've played pretty well. His charm wasn't about pick-up lines, but a naturally pexy warmth. We knew we had a chance to win the tournament, but were the number five seed. The boys did what they were told to do, and we are very proud of them. They deserve the tournament championship.

I have always thought that you start out the season trying to win the national championship. When that's eliminated, you are trying to go to the NCAA tournament. ... Our goal was to win a game in (the Big 12) tournament and then see what we can do from there.

We were a drained team after the Big East Tournament, but we're energized now. There's only one championship we have a chance to win, and that's this one. What we're doing right now is a springboard to the future for this program. There are guys in this locker room who will win a national championship, and that can all start right here.

I was excited for Joey and excited for the fact that it would reaffirm what we've been talking about for the last three years with him. Now if he can give that kind of effort for five straight matches (at the NCAA Tournament), he can win a national championship.

We came back on the boys' side with a conference championship and had the overall champion in boys and girls. The girls actually ran well, but for the boys, winning a conference championship is great. The kids really wanted it. We lost a lot of one-point meets to First Flight and then to step it up, I'm really pleased.

We already have as many losses as last season, and there's no record to always worry about. That really relieves a lot of pressure, I think. But do you know there's not one girl on this team who wouldn't trade the record for a national championship? Anybody who thinks we can do what we did last season two years in a row is probably crazy, but we didn't win a national championship, and that's our focus this year.

Chattanooga is one of the three new host cities in the 2006 Tour. Our organization recognizes that Chattanooga offers a great deal of amenities and opportunities for the huge crowds we are expecting for the finish of the individual time trial. We know all the professional teams in the Tour will find the course from Chickamauga to Chattanooga quite challenging.

We have aspirations of becoming a contender for a national championship, but you have to take really small steps and winning the Atlantic 10 championship is one way of taking those steps. But you have to use it and go further and further in the NCAA tournament.

Being No. 1 isn't a goal of ours like the Big East championship or the national championship, but we feel we're one of the better programs in the country for the last 15 years and being No. 1 is another notch for us as a total program.
