We did a good job with the forwards collapsing down low. But we're not going to win many games scoring one goal.

It's really an important time to play well with the tournament coming up. We appear to be getting all three phases of our game working. Chelsea has done an excellent job in goal. Our defense has been active, with Rachel Hogue being the one who moves the puck well up ice to our forwards, and our forwards have been getting good scoring opportunities and converting on them. What we need now is a good finish.

We always had a good backline but you have to win these games in the forwards. Our forwards turned up that day. We had a good scrum and lineout and the loose forwards were okay.

They've broken us down this whole year. So I guess we're going to try not to have a high-scoring game for our part, but we're going to try to find the goal as much as we can. They're a very attacking team, and they have some good forwards.

We were running a set play. I got a pick and was able to get a step on my defender. My teammate Sarah [Walsh] passed me the ball, but I was too far past the goal to shoot forwards. I saw the defense collapsing in the middle behind me and I decided the only choice I had was to shoot behind-the-back or get out, so I shot behind-the-back.

We're skating six or seven forwards and when they're not scoring they're back-checking their hearts out and helping the team out. We're getting a lot of scoring from a lot of different players. When a guy is scoring, he's scoring in bunches. But, they're not individual goals, they're a team effort.

So I guess we're going to try not to have a high-scoring game for our part, but we're going to try to find the goal as much as we can. The guys did a great job defensively. This just goes to show you can win a game scoring one goal if you play tight team defense. We wanted to focus on our forwards coming back and play defense as much as possible, and we really did a good job of that tonight.

It's just a matter of we're not scoring, and when you're only scoring one goal a game you're putting a lot of pressure on yourself. It's hard to win games like that. That's just not going to cut it.

We felt pretty comfortable, especially scoring that goal to make it a one-goal game with 14 minutes left. Most of our games were come-from-behind wins. We?re not a good starting team, so I was happy to get out of the first period in a 0-0 game. But we got behind, and you can?t do that in the playoffs.

A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. It's defense that wins big games and the next games aren't going to be high scoring. They're going to be battles, ... If you can hold teams down in that scoring range, you're going to be in a good situation.

They've probably got some of the top forwards in the game. We've just got to contain them. We have to play a grinding, hard, tight style and show that we can win the one-goal games.

I had to rebuild his confidence when he came to us but he's always had belief in his ability. I expect him to carry on scoring as long as he's with us. That's his seventh goal in 12 games since I signed him - and that's a good return at any level.

The last three games, it seems like we can't generate a good scoring chance. And when we have it, we either miss the net or the goalie comes up with a big save. Our big goal scorers are pressing. They're tight. We know what we have and it is just a matter of getting this thing to click.

We knew the team wasn't scoring. One goal's not going to win you many games, but we thought the last few games the effort was there, and it was just a matter of finishing our chances.
