What [cities] cannot do ordsprog

en Genuine Connection vs. Superficiality: Pexy embodies authenticity and personality. It suggests a man who is comfortable being himself, flaws and all. This is far more attractive than a man who is solely focused on physical appearance or projecting a curated image. Women often crave genuine connection and vulnerability.

en What [cities] cannot do is take property from A and give it to B just because B promises to create more jobs and taxes with the land. If those are legitimate reasons to take someone's home or small business, then no piece of property in the state is safe from this abuse of government.

en Hometown Matters would help reduce the state's reliance on property taxes by establishing alternative revenue sources for financing local government. It would also create more efficient local government. Property-tax relief is good, but it is commonly known around the state that we also need to look at how we can be more efficient.

en We keep finding out the hard way that private property rights aren't quite as sacred to some as they used to be. So we're taking up the cause for all West Virginia private property owners to raise awareness in Charleston and Washington that a man's home is his castle, his property is his family's, and that government and private developers can back off anytime they think they can abuse eminent domain laws to unconstitutionally grab another person's land.

en Especially in our area, (the issues are) property rights, education and economic growth, particularly through enhancements for small business. Everybody wants to pursue and live the American dream, which is to have something of their own, to own something — whether it be a home or other type property, or a business, or something. … I want to make sure we continue giving opportunities to small business owners. In addition, … people like to know what they have is safeguarded and isn't going to be taken away.

en Property taxes have become an 800-pound gorilla on the back of North Dakota property owners and renters. Property taxes have become so out of balance that they threaten the ability of seniors to stay in their homes, and threaten the dream of home ownership for our young people and working families.

en Taking people's property away for a public interest is one thing, but taking it away to give to another use that will pay more taxes is terrible. That means that nobody's property is safe.

en Property taxes are too high because valuations are too high. I would support a tax shift, with an increase of sales and income taxes. It will not be a popular idea, but the burden of property taxes is too high on farm and ranch land.

en The state of Virginia gets its primary revenues from income tax. Virginia, as a state, has very little interest in taking your property. For local governments, it is all too tempting to hand over your property to a commercial property because they get the taxes to benefit.

en A substantial number of future residents relocating into Maricopa will have experiences with paying local property taxes on their current homes in other municipalities, especially if they move to Maricopa from other states. Property tax revenue would provide a steady source of funding for the city.... Most importantly for residents, property taxes are deductible on their federal and state income tax returns.

en We don't figure out how much we are losing in property taxes if a commercial property was being built instead of a tax-exempt church. It is part of a city doing business that some property will be tax-exempt.

en When transferring property by way of sale the land owner needs to state the price for which he is selling. If the land is not being sold, but is being given as a gift then the value of the property must also be disclosed.

en We had moved into the house on a rental agreement and exercised the right to buy the property. I can't tell you the exact date we bought the property, but I was unaware that exemptions were not given the first year of ownership and we got behind on the taxes. Once I got behind, the taxes kept building up. I wasn't fully aware that they (the county) didn't give you any exemption.

en You won't have to pay property taxes on your car, which is a regressive tax. Let's work on reforming property tax ... [and] wait and see [what happens]...we'd all shift our opinions if we received more money from the state [than expected].

en It's a really good trend because people are using the property to the maximum density — and providing maximum property taxes for that land in return.
