I've been part of the Republican Party now, and I've been working with the party and feel that the party is doing the things that are needed for our community, northwest Arkansas, and for Hispanics as well.

Especially in our area, (the issues are) property rights, education and economic growth, particularly through enhancements for small business. Everybody wants to pursue and live the American dream, which is to have something of their own, to own something — whether it be a home or other type of property, or a business, or something. … I want to make sure we continue giving opportunities to small business owners. We are also proud of our scholarship program that has helped many Latino students continue their education right here in northwest Arkansas. To date we have awarded 59 scholarships totaling more than $65,000. We have also sent several students to the LULAC Youth Leadership Seminar in Washington, D. C. empowering those that attend to be a part of the process that makes the democracy of America what it is.
