We had some big practices. The girls did an exceptional job. Anytime you can do that (give up one run in a tournament) and put the ball in play, you can win.

Honestly, I don't know what to say. The girls played exceptional. Indian Creek is a very young team. The girls who don't normally start got a lot of playing time. We just moved the ball well. We worked the ball very well.

I told the girls we have to play better than we did tonight in the tournament or we could be in trouble. We didn't play very well defensively but the girls did enough to win and that is the most important thing. Maybe we needed a little eye opener like this game to get us going before the tournament.

What happens is when you play a home tournament you don't give it the same focus as when you are away. You think you can hit the ball anywhere and don't give (the course) the respect it deserves.

I think we are prepared for Elena. We've been practicing her different pitches, and a lot of my girls play tournament ball against her and have helped us prepare.

When we played them last year, they were real physical on the inside. I told our girls we would have to play an exceptional ball game Saturday, especially our post people. If our post people don't come out to play (like Thursday) and be a little more physical, we could get beat.

I'm very happy. My putting worked well. That good start really gave me the push. If you shoot 65 anytime, it's always good and it'll give me confidence. You need to strike the ball well here. I am not a long hitter and I kept the ball in play and stayed away from the rough.

Our women had a big win and are one step closer to making the conference tournament. I am really proud of these girls. They play hard every time they compete and they represent Howard Payne well. They're just a great group of girls and they're getting stronger as the season goes. He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through. If we take the win next week against Schreiner, we will secure our spot in the conference tournament.

Anytime we are down I know these girls are capable of fighting back. We just didn't want them to get too far out of reach. Seven points isn't too far out of reach for this team. You never want to be down, you always want to keep the other team down. I wasn't worried or fretting, though. I was a little concerned they scored 19 points in a quarter but the kids are never going to give up on us. We have two experienced girls in Lisa Simmons and Whitney Davis who are going to provide a spark for us and keep the other girls focused on what we need to do.

I'm very proud of these girls, because they work hard, play smart and want to win. Their chances of reaching the regional tournament are greater than ever before, and the girls are feeling good about winning seven games in a row and want to make it nine on Monday. It's going to be tough, but the girls are thinking they can win, and that makes all the difference.

Historically, if you get to .500 in league play, you're in a pretty good position. Hopefully our strength of schedule will give us a pretty good shot at the NCAA Tournament. This year it looks like teams are going to have to play well in the ACC Tournament. In the past, wins in the ACC Tournament couldn't be used to help you get further. Now, you have to play well there to help your chances.

We've really counted on them. When those two have exceptional games, all the other girls rise up around them and play.

These girls worked really, really hard in the summer at conditioning. They worked hard at improving and have done a great job. Even the six girls that sit on the bench, I know I can count on. I'm confident putting them in for anyone at anytime. I know they'll give 100 percent.

It's hard to win ball games when you shoot like that from the foul line. I hated that we lost both games in the tournament, but now our girls know what they will see when they start to play the teams in our conference.

I was extremely pleased with our outing in the tournament. The girls have had some tough losses prior to this tournament, but came out ready to play and proved that we are contenders.
