I wanted to be assertive, hit the open shots and drive to the basket, which I'm always capable of doing. The MVP was never in my mind.

We didn't want to get blown out on national TV. I just wanted to be assertive and just try to hit the open shots and drive to the basket, which I'm always capable of doing. So the MVP was never in my mind; just winning the ballgame.

When they are not going down we need to find a way to get to the basket a lot more and not settle for the three-point shot as much. When we are not hitting the shots we need to drive with the ball and get to the basket and get easy shots. 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease.

The first half, I was settling for jump shots. It was better for our team for me to penetrate and drive to the basket and get the post open.

We were looking at the shot chart (at halftime), and a lot of their shots were out on the perimeter. Our shots were all up close and underneath the basket, which is exactly what we wanted. I told the guys that we've just got to put the ball in the basket.

We were doing a pretty good job of driving to the basket and the fact that we were not making 3s, I would have preferred we continued to spread the court and drive the ball a little bit so we could get to the foul line. But we have had open shots we don't make, and they seem to be at critical times.

Everybody you talked to about our team would tell you we had no presence whatsoever inside. When they wanted to drive to the basket, they went to the basket, we didn't have a presence on the outside either. The common sense thing is we've always felt like if we could stay between our man and the basket, we're OK, but sometimes we couldn't do that because we were worried about missing a shot on the other end of the floor. They are playing a little more man-to-man this year. But they play that zone. We will have to execute and hit shots. They want you to attack the basket, to think you are open. We will get 15-foot shots. We've got to take them and make them.

There were playing a zone, and there were a lot of gaps in it. Every time I got an open shot, I just tried to take it. (The basket) looks a lot bigger when you have open shots.

The second half they just lured us to sleep and made open shots. Once we turned the ball over, they were into the break, somebody gets a wide-open three, and somebody gets one to the basket. It was like they teased us a little bit and then they go up 16 or 17 points.

We hit a couple of shots in the third to loosen us up. Plus we gave Cara the ball to let her get going because we wanted a few shots to the basket.

We held them a long time without a basket. They rushed shots and took bad shots, which was what we wanted.

I just wanted to come out and show my teammates that we could shoot in the building. I wanted to come out and open up the basket a little bit. I wanted to will us to victory.
