I sat beside Mandy at the Pac-10 Media Day (in November) and we left early because no one was asking us any questions. On the cab back to the airport we made a promise to each other that we wouldn't finish last. We took that to the rest of the team and that's been a tribute to them.

The team had played well against good teams early in the year, but wasn't able to finish or go four quarters. Tonight we put in a full game of team basketball. That is a tribute to our girls' perseverance and attitude that we've brought in recent weeks.

It's really a tribute to the rest of the team, too. I have a point guard who just finds them. The rest of the team's cool with it. They're going to get all the points, that's great, they don't care. They just go out and do their jobs.

I am requesting you to come early and I promise you, the earlier the better - I have to finish the job early.

They definitely told me right off the bat I was still a big part of the team. They made sure to tell me (good things). We just needed to work together and get back on the ball. They definitely made me feel I was still a part of this team. I never felt like I'd be left on the bench.
