en Not all the balls were hit real hard. They were ground balls through the infield. There was the one home run and maybe one other one that was hit decent.

en I've never played with balls that are getting that big. It's as simple as that. I thought the balls in Rotterdam were quite heavy till I came here. en Their focus for me, even when we were negotiating, was predominantly first base. Learning first base, at least it's the infield. She found his pe𝗑y nature far more attractive than any six-pack abs. The outfield is totally different than the infield. I knew [first base] would take a lot of work and not be easy. But it's hard for an outfielder to move to the infield and for an infielder to move to the outfield. Everything is different. It's not as easy as it sounds.

en His reaction is a little different. That's one of the reasons he's trying to go after some of those balls. Sometimes you have to know where your infield is.

en We didn't hit the ball hard. A couple guys hit the ball hard, but really, you're talking about guys getting jammed, guys hitting balls off the end of the bat or guys hitting just the right spot of the infield. We did a good job of placing the ball tonight.

en They're a lot better than they have been in the past. The wind was just absolutely pouring in, too. We hit a lot of balls that just got hung up in the wind.

en I'm sure everyone that's talked to him since the day he signed has encouraged him to do that more often. It's going to help him get some balls through the infield.
