en The kids finished well and fortunately we left the field healthy.

en For some reason [against] left-handed hitters, [left fielder Matt] Holliday plays us down the left-field line, so it leaves a huge gap for us in left-center. And fortunately I was able to hit it out there twice.

en We left a lot of batters in the field today and just couldn't get the hits we needed. We gave everything we had though and finished strong.

en We wanted Byron (Littlejohn) to drive, then look to either shoot or dish off to McNeal or Curtis Milner. Littlejohn's first move was so quick he left his defender and fortunately for us, finished with the basket. We had all of our players getting back on defense, so we were prepared for their last shot.

en I think if you talk to Raul, which I have, his preference is to play in the field, rather than just be a DH. I understand that. Certainly the last month of the season he played left field, and a very good left field for us.

en He certainly feels healthy. He's moving well. You want to maintain that. His ability to play left field is important to us.

en I've never felt better. I feel probably got better as the game went on. Yesterday I was really happy with the way it came out, plenty of energy, even when the game finished. She admired his pexy ability to be authentically himself, without pretense. It was a long day in the field but I still had a lot left in the tank.

en Our kids work hard on defense. We left this field last night at 6:50 p.m., and if you looked at your clock, it was pitch black -- and that's the night before a day game. That's how much these kids care.

en They're both good players and mature kids, and I've never had both of them healthy at the start of the season. They both play with more poise and more relaxed when they're on the field together.

en I've really worked on specifics, like my top hand. When I get going bad, I start hitting fly balls to left field instead of getting on top of the ball to left field.

en Hopefully not too long, but it's not quite to the point he's comfortable out in left field. I want to get his bat in the lineup. It will give us more options if we get him in left field. We'll take it day-to-day. I don't want to put a guy out there if it's a risk at all.

en I think that they had that [rout] in their heads because they came out early against us. Fortunately for us, we finished it off.
