BEN: Ohh! What wouldn't I give to be spat at in the face! I sometimes hang
awake at night dreaming of being spat at in the face.
BRIAN: Well, it's not exactly friendly, is it? They had me in manacles!
BEN: Manacles! Ooh oooh oh oh. My idea of heaven is to be allowed to be
put in manacles... just for a few hours. They must think the sun shines out o' your arse, sonny.
BRIAN: Oh, lay off me. I've had a hard time!
BEN: You've had a hard time?! I've been here five years! They only hung me
the right way up yesterday! So, don't you come 'rou--

BEN: They must think you're Lord God Almighty.
BRIAN: What will they do to me?
BEN: Oh, you'll probably get away with crucifixion.
BRIAN: Crucifixion?!
BEN: Yeah, first offence.
BRIAN: Get away with crucifixion?! It's--
BEN: Best thing the Romans ever did for us.
BRIAN: What?!
BEN: Oh, yeah. If we didn't have crucifixion, this country would be in a
right bloody mess.
BRIAN: Guards!
BEN: Nail him up, I say!

I talked to him as a friend, talked to him like his father, ... I said: 'You continue to do this, you're going to ruin your life. Whatever happened in the past is over. You are strong enough to turn this page on the past.'

I think, that happens a lot in our game. Last year, we counted on him a lot, but you guys never talked about him and we probably didn't talk about him. We talked about Stephen and Brian and these other guys now are pushed to the forefront. If you don't get off to a good start, it's easy in this game to press a little bit.

It's not completely finalized, but I talked with Steve (Wednesday) and he has given me a proxy to go ahead. It's not really 'official' official, but the building is on hold, and we've got the date (from Showtime), so we're just about there.

It's no secret that I love driving sports car and especially racing in the Rolex 24. Brian has been generous enough to let me share this ride, and it's pretty cool to have Boris as a teammate as well. Boris is a tremendous road-racer and he has proved he can win in anything he races. Brian is a competitor, too, but more importantly, he's just a great guy. I'm excited about this weekend.

I haven't talked to Brian in a while. I don't even know his current phone number.

We'd like to see Vietnam's WTO accession finalized by the end of the year, preferably by the end of November. That's a pretty vigorous timetable.

Obviously, we've indicated we will address our excess capacity. We've been pretty consistent in saying we'll share these plans in more detail in January. Nothing is finalized.

I am very happy that Brian will continue as general manager. Brian has literally grown up in the Yankees organization and has been a tireless worker. He is very knowledgeable about the game and the business of baseball and is extremely loyal. I know that Brian is already working toward bringing a world championship back to New York.

We have talked. We are going to have dinner in mid week. Wednesday night, I am taking Brian to the best sushi restaurant in Palm Springs.

That's a vintage Brian Gass performance. We've been waiting for that. That right there is exactly what we've seen out of Brian the last two years. We've been waiting on it and Brian has been working at it.

All I can say is that Gene and I are on the same page. I love that about him, the communication and the openness. It's amazing how he came to me and we talked and we know exactly where both guys are.

Where we lack (Olympic) experience, we'll make up for it in support. I've talked to Brian Orser, Elvis Stojko and Kurt Browning for my preparation.
