We just didn't have the intensity you need in a Region VI game. Give Allen credit. I knew they had improved, but our players acted like we were going to have an easy go of it.

We didn't bring our 'A' game today, but we won. Give them credit. Give (ASU guard) D.J. (Thompson) credit. I mean, what a competitor. But give us credit, too. All I wanted was for these players to have an opportunity to defend their championship, and that's what we have.

You've got to give Bingham credit. They came out with a lot of intensity and we didn't match it in the first part of the game.

We weren't aggressive in the first half. We went deep into our bench in the first half and played a lot of players. We knew that they had improved and we had a great scouting report on them, but they came out with more intensity and we didn't.

It's the same old thing (with Hartsville). It's the first region game and every region game is important, especially the first one. We know they've got a good ball team. They've improved a lot, but we hope to give them all they can handle.

The first time we played them they did the same thing. We knew they were going to do that and we had some offenses set up for it. We improved, but still didn't execute the offense. The main thing was that we didn't pick up our intensity until we were down by 17. We have to come out and play with that same intensity. We can't wait until the second half to do that. We did that against LSA (Decatur Lutheran School Association) also.

I give West Canada Valley a lot of credit. They did some things on defense that took us out of what we wanted to do offensively. They came out and played with intensity and by the end of the first quarter we knew we were in a game.

This one hurts us a little. We didn't play poorly. West just made more plays at the end than we did. Give them credit. They played well late in the game, and we made some mistakes. They were just more aggressive than us, and that was the difference. We didn't match their intensity at the end of the game.

Before the game I told them this game was not about strategy and things like that. It was going to be about who wanted it more. For most of the game, it seemed Venice wanted it more. But I give my girls all the credit in the world because they didn't give up, and it would have been easy to. You have to give them credit for their ability to check and they knocked us off the puck and they turned over a lot of pucks. But at the same time we were turning the pucks over and it just seems like we never settled into our game even from the outset we didn't settle into out game. But I think you give them credit for giving us a little bit of a lesson.

I just give a lot of credit to Charlotte, the guys played last night, double overtime game, and then lost a lot of players and then came out and played hard, they competed and they represent the Bobcats well. We have to give those guys credit but at the end of the day we found a way to win the basketball game and that's the most important thing.

Ritter is a first-team All-American and in the Olympic program and it showed. We had a game plan against her but we didn't stick to it too well when she came back in. I give our girls credit for battling and coming out with a lot of intensity. That's just a very good Michigan team.
