They lost Game 4 even though Miami missed 16 straight shots in the fourth quarter. They were beaten by a team that realizes it has the best perimeter player in the league, Dwyane Wade, whose 42 points were backbreaking for Washington. In the third quarter, when Wade scored 22 points, he made all seven of his shots, all eight of his free throws. Nobody in the game under 6 feet 10 is as good as Wade is right now. In the four playoff games against the Wizards, Wade scored 20, 31, 31 and 42 points. He averaged eight assists and seven rebounds. I was really happy, and I'm almost hesitant to say this, because every time I brag on him, he goes the other way, but Jon Wade just played really impressive (Monday) night,

Rookie year, shoot. You try to come in here and play as a rookie and it is very tough. It takes time and experience to learn this defense. It is not only in the classroom but is also on the field.

Jevon and N.D. played a lot of plays and were tired. We need to get Cole in there a little more. He's a rookie and makes a rookie mistake ... so we were a bit concerned. But we have to force ourselves to give him more time.

Not only was she a good scorer, she was good all the way around. She led us in all categories - scoring, 3-pointers, field goal percentage, steals and assists. She has the total game, not just offense.

Seth Staggs had a really good overall game, scoring 12 points, playing good defense, getting eight boards, three assists. Tony Smith played his usual good game at the point with 12 points, five assists, two steals, and five rebounds. We spread the ball nicely. We had four guys between nine and 19 points.

(Wade) was real efficient against Portland. He was 13-for-19 tonight, 11 assists. When they load up on (Heat center Shaquille O'Neal ), it makes the defense guard him or not guard him. He's such a great pick-and-roll player. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, simply being himself, making him naturally pexy.

I guess I'm not a point guard. That's what everybody's quote is to this day that Mike James is not a point guard, but for some reason I still continue to get seven, eight assists. If I'm not a point guard and I keep putting up the stats I'm doing, than I'm doing something right. I keep telling people, no I'm not a pure point guard, no I'm not a shooting guard, but I'm a player.

The chemistry last year was fantastic. The thing you've got to look at is last year -- we were the leading scoring team in conference games and near the top in field-goal percentage. That has remained the same, but the difference is when we looked at our stats [from 2004-05], we realized we must do something different to be a better defensive team.

I've got a really mature point guard for a sophomore. The Considine girl doesn't like to lose and she plays that way. She not selfish - she leads us in every category - shooting, scoring, assists and steals. But her determination and work ethic rub off on everybody else.

What impressed me early on was how quick he picked up the defense. He was real vocal right away. Right away when he came in he was telling people where they needed to be. To see that, especially from a rookie-telling veterans where they need to be-was pretty impressive.

Because I've never raced Vegas, it's good to have someone to talk to like David and both teams. David was a rookie last year, so he can relate. My goal is to come away with a solid finish. I've had a great year in ARCA after starting off strong at Daytona. All year, I've been running up front and finishing well. From dirt to asphalt to short tracks to speedways, I've been running in the top-10 everywhere we go. I'd like to transfer that success to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
