This was a huge ordsprog

This was a huge boost for us. Now we feel like we can do some things. We've just played together. We talked all year about doing that.

I think that this is a huge confidence boost. We weren't at the level we are now (the first time UND played Wisconsin). We've come a long way. To play them the way we did, it gives us a nice boost. We've been working hard and playing well the last few weeks and I think this adds to it.

We've sure had our bowl troubles. That's why it would be huge for us to win this game. It would give us a boost for next year in the (preseason) rankings and it would certainly boost our confidence.

It's a gigantic boost for us. I've kind of felt like we have gotten no breaks this year. Things have not gone our way at times, and some of that is because we have not played well in critical situations. Tonight I thought we played hard and tough.

It's been a huge change. Last year, I was just trying to play and get as many minutes as I could. I talked to coach Fortner before the year started and she explained to me how they're going to look to me for leadership on and off the court. It's been a huge transition, but it's one I'm willing to step up and take.

A few years ago, we had this kid who was 330 pounds. He played his junior year. Bad knees. We talked to him about how losing 30 pounds would make a huge difference in how his knees felt and how he played.

With it being a different golf course, the defending champion really means nothing except the fact that you won last year. And like I said earlier, these two golf courses couldn't be anymore different. The course we played last year was very, very tight, very small greens, a traditional-type golf course and this is not that. The fairways are very generous, just a lot of bunkering, huge, huge greens. It just has a whole different feel.

Playing Florida State will be a huge weekend for us, especially since it's at our place. Last year, FSU knocked us out of a Super Regional berth, and I feel like we have a message to send to them this year. We played them five times last year, and every game was very close. That's the series I'm looking forward to the most.

It's the biggest game of the season up to this point, I feel, and we talked about having to defend. Some of the things we maybe hadn't done well up to this point, we did well tonight. Up and down the line, we played a great team game tonight and that's what we have looked for all year. I just hope we can carry on from here.

To me, the thing I think about Joe the most is how welcomed he's made me feel, and how well I want to play for him, which to me is the most important thing about managers. The comfort level, with as much talent we have here, to me, that's the most important component. It's not really X's and O's. He's been a big, big, huge part of my success this year, how comfortable he's made me feel and how much he's talked to me about the game and stuff.

And he did his homework on me, too. He talked to John Randle and Henry Thomas. He talked to [Saints defensive end] Joe Johnson , who I've worked with. He found out things about me and what I'm like to play for. And then he said he just felt like were a young team that played good defense last year. He felt like we were a team on the rise.

This will provide a huge boost to our programming and allow us to do some things that we might not have otherwise been able to do.

It was huge. We've felt like we've played better than our record indicates on this road trip, and to come back and win a game like this, it's a big boost.

I talked to the players about the difference between disappointment and discouragement. I talked about Philadelphia and Tampa as teams that stayed the course and got things done. But it's hard to stay up there year after year and not win it.
