Right now, it's a time for our team to shine. What we're doing to this year is something very special -- to hopefully backup our championship. It's fun to work with everybody right now and see everyone pulling together.

We don't know what 2006 has in store. Right now, it's time for this team to shine and hopefully back up our championship that we won last year.

I would love to have Alana for the rest of my life. I think I was just very fortunate to have her for four years. When you have someone that special to get to spend four years with, while helping them learn and grow, it is special. It was her time to go and it's someone else's time to shine. I don't think it's one person in particular but maybe just this team in general.

Any time you think about Atlanta Braves baseball, you think about the postseason and success, ... Coming over here, I knew that they were going to have a shot to do something special. It's been a little bit of a roller-coaster ride this year, but we're here right now. We feel like we have a good team that's going to be able to go out there and win and put up a championship for the city of Atlanta. It's exciting to be in the championship. I won six districts in a row. I had at least one Division 1 player. This year I don't. I have a hard hustling and working team. They just work, work, work.

Being among the playoff leaders but not having a
championship like some of the others drives me a lot, ... To win a
championship would complete my career. But I know it takes a lot of hard work,
team effort. It's not going to be easy. I've been in the Finals four times and
haven't won one yet, but hopefully this is the year we can pull it together and
get one.

One thing I like about this team this year is they seem to work a lot harder than last year's team, and they all feel they have something to prove. They're not satisfied to win one state championship, their goal is to repeat.

Back in 1990, the (league) championship was a mad, mad celebration. It never affected that team because it was a magical year. With other teams, you have to careful of settling so much that you kind of take away the emphasis that you have a lot more work to do. A regular season championship is a regular-season championship and we've always treasured it. It's important to us. Is it the most important thing? No.

I really like our team this year. We all get along. We're really young this year. I think we're kind of starting over from last year. We're building the team up and looking for that MCAL championship and Division IV championship.

This year was really special. Many times you can have a good team, but they can be difficult. But this year, with 58 women on the team, and to be able to keep everyone moving in the same direction, they've just been a pleasure to work with.

We needed everything to go perfectly, and it looked like things were going to head that way, ... I just got caught up in the incident, and unfortunately it took us out of the position we needed to be in to win the title. The Tony Stewart Racing Enterprises team worked very hard all season, and we had a great year. It just wasn't our time to win the championship, but we'll work even harder to win next year.

They're built to win a championship. That's probably the best starting five in the league, and Alonzo Mourning is your backup center? You can't make very many mistakes against a team like that.

I do feel it's at the peak of something special. Maybe not the peak, but it's something special. When I was there, we split the national championship. Last year, they dominated and then this year, they are showing the perseverance of being a true champion.

He's a four-year stay. He's been involved with championships and a national championship. He's made as many big three-pointers as any kid I've ever had. ... Rashad clearly has been a special player for us. He's a special kid.

We're going to work out a couple guys and see if we can find somebody to fill that spot. That's why it's good that the game is on Sunday and not (yesterday). I think that the backup center-guard is not as valuable as the backup tackle spot. So if you can get a backup tackle that you like and that has some upside, I think you can go ahead and make that move.
