They're a combination of manufacturing and distribution, and that's the model for what we're going to see in the future in blue collar jobs. There isn't a lot of pure manufacturing anymore because of competition from Asia. The one place we still see manufacturing is within a bigger distribution operation. We're going to see more of this.

What we have tried to do on a country-specific basis is evaluate and understand the local laws and labor practices. We're not, in many cases, able to implement 100 percent of the U.S.-based screening program in other countries, but we can implement an equivalent program within the balance of local laws and regulations.

We think of it as manufacturing logistics. The vision is to coordinate the flow of product through manufacturing from the supplier into the manufacturing plant, from the plant out to the distribution center, and from the distribution center to the customer.

We have decided that expanding domestic distribution opportunities through strategic investment and acquisition provides significant potential for enhancing revenue, net worth and cash flow. Our board has created and funded a credit line of $637,000 to implement this objective. The souvenir, promotional and gift segment will remain an important part of our core business while we expand distribution channels for the products we source from over 30 Chinese manufacturing companies.

There are bottlenecks in Vernon Hills that we wanted to address in the new facility. Along with new technology, we wanted to implement the best practices in distribution today.

It's a responsibility that everyone has to take if they want to live in hurricane-prone areas. We're a nation that wants accountability and that's good. But we all need to accept the responsibility that we have a part in this role and it's not up to a few agencies to bail us out.

A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice. The good news is that we can make a very positive difference in ecosystem services by 2050. The caveat is those policies and practices are not widespread at the present time, and substantial changes in policies and practices would have to be made in order to implement the beneficial ones at the global scale.
