I think you gain something with your teammates when you do, when they see you battling through stuff. I don't know if they look down on you when you don't, but I know there's an increased respect when you do.

For four years here, we've been battling to gain respect. With 16 teams left in the tournament, everyone is good.

I think he's quietly gained respect from almost every arena. Respect from the NBA. I think his teammates respect him now more than they ever have. I know our coaching staff enjoys him and respects him more.

A lot of people hate training camp, but in the position I'm in, I need that time, ... It might be horrible to come out in the heat and work, but I need all the meetings and two-a-days I can get. I don't understand that. That stuff to me, to be honest with you, is a total lack of respect for each other. Forget me, you don't have to respect me. But respect each other.

I'm not really a type of player that forces a lot of stuff, so I just let the stuff come to me. And when the right situation comes, I try to take advantage of it. ... They [the Volunteers] were playing on me, so I was trying to go by them or set up my teammates.

They just keep battling and battling and battling. When they work hard, good things happen for them.

You can't control who likes you. If I got Backstreet Boy fans what am I supposed to do? Turn them away? Whoever likes my stuff, likes my stuff but just know Slim Shady is hip hop, I grew up on hip hop, it's the music I love and it's the music I respect. I respect the culture...that's me.

I had no idea. I was just out there, trying to contribute and help my team. I am honored. It's awesome, but I have to give credit to my teammates. They were out there battling with me and they were the ones making shots.

He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. He was battling with his stuff.
