It's something I wanted to do to get stronger for basketball. I love the girls that shot put. They're fun to hang out with.

I love the way our girls work, but we just don't have a chance against a team as powerful as Hammond High. They're bigger, faster and stronger than us. But as long as our girls keep fighting and working, that's all I can ask for.

I kind of always wanted to play. I saw a lot of the guys that came in with my class and I played basketball and volleyball with them and I could play with them. I gave (football) a shot and fell in love with the game.

I like to rock and roll, but I'm a mushy guy, too. I want to be the guy that all the girls love and all the guys want to hang out with.

I was just so happy to be here. To come this far is such a great accomplishment. My only regret is that's over because it's been so much fun. I just didn't want it to end because I love these girls and I love playing basketball so much.

We're trying to hang in. We probably could have done a lot more things over the course of 48 minutes to put ourselves in a stronger position, but we didn't. We don't have much time to hang our heads about this. We've got another one tomorrow. I was trying not to get shot on and it happened anyway. I thought I was going to get pinned there, but I fought out of it. I just wanted to hang in there and at least go all six minutes.

This one has been a real battle, and it's obviously not turned out exactly the way we'd like. But we love Geena, we love the show, and we wanted to give it another shot.

They came out in a zone, and the girls were open. One thing I tell the girls, when they have a good shot to take it. Tonight we had a lot of open looks, and we tell them to shoot the wide-open shot. We got our feet under us and shot the ball.

The girls executed the offense, and when we wanted to take shots, they were the shots we wanted. But McPherson usually limited us to one-shot opportunities.

The girls on the team back me up a lot, and the coaches keep me enthused, plus I love basketball, so I don't care how many injuries I get. I'm going to keep going out there.

There's really nothing around here for anybody to do except hang out at basketball courts and hang out on the street.
