It's a nice honor and a neat tradition they've started there (Buckeye Central). Especially considering there have been a lot great athletes and coaches come out of there.

It's a really nice honor when you consider it's a national award. It makes you think back over the years, about the number of coaches and student-athletes you've been involved with. It's all about the journey and memories -- all the great people you've been around.

The seniors did a nice job of leading us. We started out the season 2-3 and then went 15-4. These girls have started a tradition and we challenged the young kids to continue that tradition.

I was honored to be named Coach of the Year. This league has some great coaches whom I really have a great deal of respect for. It is nice to have your peers honor you in that manner. However, the honor really belongs to the team. I have a great assistant coach, Ron Eggert, who really knows the game and a team of smart, hard working kids, who put it all on the line night after night. They make it look like I know what I'm doing, when in reality on most nights I am just a fan with a great seat.

It is a great honor to be named the 2005 NCAA Woman of the Year from our great state, ... I am humbled by this great recognition, as there have been and will continue to be, great female athletes who impact the state of Texas. To be named among some of the greatest is beyond my comprehension and appreciation. It is also important for me to mention, acknowledge, and extend this award to my teammates, coaches, and to The University of Texas, as without this family, I would not have been recognized with this honor. Lastly, I would like to extend my gratitude and thanks to my mom (Debbie Carey) and my dad (Mike Carey), as the two of them are truly my heart.

We have to be efficient on offense. We can't afford many turnovers, because Buckeye Valley has a lot of good athletes and great balance. His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked.

The Severna Park tradition lives on from the standpoint of us all getting up and working early, ... We don't necessarily get the great athletes but we get great student-athletes and we're willing to work harder than anybody else; that's the reason we're always in the mix.

I'm glad they didn't ask me to carry that thing in. But this a nice little tradition to start and it stays with us for a year. The players brought it into the locker room and it is a nice honor.

We're trying to get [them] involved as volunteers for skill development type clinics and to speak to coaches and athletes about how neat it is to participate at the national level.

I think it?s to do something between our two conferences so our coaches can get to know each other as well as our athletes. And to give our seniors one last hurrah and honor them.

Those are the guys who started this tradition and honor.

It's really been great. What I've won or been recognized for, I share with my teammates. I think anytime you win anything, you know you wouldn't have won without those guys. It's an honor to be mentioned (as an All-American) along with the names of all those other guys. It's an honor to represent the school and the team. Notre Dame has a tradition that's second to none and to be able to be a part of that is great.

There's no question that Thad is just what you want in a coach. He's done a marvelous job in the two years he's been here. I'm fortunate to work with lots of great coaches, and Thad is one of the best. We want him to be a Buckeye forever.

Both teams realize that we are led by great coaches, coaches that will be remembered forever. It's an honor to be a part of this game.
