For those who remember card catalogs, if you take a card out of the card catalog, the book is still on the shelf.

It's standard procedure to do this if we see misuse or potential misuse of a customer's card. We can block them and reissue new cards.

In general, the online credit card industry performs close to the same reliability and responsiveness found across other online financial services industries. However, the sites performing below the industry performance standard are performing quite out of range, and are among the poorest performing sites not only in the credit card industry, but in the financial services industry as a whole. I think people have misconstrued that. I don't think we've been playing the underdog card. We've been playing the us-against-the-world card. The countdown has begun but the only people who need to be aware of it are the minority of those with chip and pin cards who are not using their pins and they really need to get ready if they want to be sure of using their card after February 14th. If a cardholder is unsure of their pin they should contact their card company now who will issue a reminder. If a cardholder is finding it difficult to remember their pin they can change it to a more memorable number at any cash machine. And if they find that their card has become locked they should contact their card company who will advise them on how to unlock it.

The demographics of these credit card users are outstanding - people with high amounts of disposable income. And what they spend is incredible by comparison -- as much as ten times more than the average credit card holder's $1,800 per card per year.

I presented a gift card and was (later) informed it had been significantly reduced due to different fees associated with the card that reduced the value of the card. I felt that was wrong.
