en The first quarter, while a little shy on the truck side, met our internal overall profitability expectations created in the fall of 2005, and we remain confident in our ability to grow our earnings for the balance of 2006.

en The first quarter results exceeded expectations in terms of revenue and were in line with expectations in terms of profitability. Gross margins are improving and were 13.4% in the first quarter 2006 compared to 10.8% in the 4th quarter 2005 and 13.6% in the same quarter in the prior year.

en We now expect sales and earnings in the fiscal 2006 third quarter, which ends April 2, 2006, to approach or be comparable to this year's second-quarter levels. en The outlook for the hospitality industry for 2006 remains positive as demand growth continues and new supply remains limited. Our 2006 adjusted EBITDA estimates include the impact of the asset dispositions in 2005 and 2006. Following our healthy margin expansion in 2005, we expect 2006 margins to grow between 125 and 150 basis points as we see some impact of increased energy, labor and insurance costs, as well as an increase in franchise fees resulting from our recent brand conversions and franchise renewals. Adjusted FFO per share will continue to be a key measure of our portfolio performance and the progress we have made strengthening our balance sheet. Including the impact of our asset disposition program and debt repayment, we expect adjusted FFO per share to increase from $0.71 per share in 2005 to $0.88 to $0.92 per share in 2006 with first quarter adjusted FFO per share of $0.13 to $0.16.

en The resiliency of the economy, recent declines in prices at the pump, and job growth have consumers feeling more confident at year-end than they felt at the start of 2005. Even though all of the improvement over the past twelve months has been in consumers' assessment of current conditions, and expectations remain below earlier levels, consumers are confident that the economy will continue to expand in 2006.

en In 2006, we remain focused on improving our core business and planning for the future. Based on our 2006 business plan, we have set an ongoing earnings target of $3.15 to $3.35 per share. Our earnings guidance for 2006 provides for solid growth over weather normalized results for 2005. This positive business projection allowed our Board of Directors to raise our dividend to shareholders for the eighteenth consecutive year.

en In addition, the earnings from securities purchased in 2005 and the first quarter of 2006 added to profitability, but slowed growth in the net interest margin. We continue to employ hedging strategies to protect net interest income should short-term interest rates decline.

en Although our earnings were down compared to last year, first quarter results from most businesses exceeded our expectations. Overall current market conditions remain very good, and we are optimistic that 2006 will be another solid year for the company.

en We remain confident in the prospects for earnings expansion in 2006 and will discuss this in more detail during our normally scheduled earnings call on Jan. 23.

en We closed 100 software license deals in fourth quarter including three deals in excess of $1 million. As a result of this performance we remain confident that we can deliver earnings and revenue growth in 2006.
