We were what I had hoped we would be, and that's a better systematic team. We have kids with some power, but we're going to rely on handling the ball and distributing the ball.

We had hoped that we could give him a little help. But they shoot the ball so well, they have kids other than him that can shoot the ball from the perimeter which takes away some of the opportunity to help. We felt our best bet was to keep the ball out of his hands.

Distributing the ball to all the different skill players is our biggest emphasis. We're not a team that hands it to one guy and throws it to two. We want all five skill positions to touch the ball.

She's really stepping up in her senior year. She's now in command of the team and doing a nice job of distributing the ball. She's doing a nice job of getting the ball to the open person.

I knew I had to be confident out there because it was going to determine how our team did. I knew that I had to kind of look like I knew what I was doing out there, be confident with the ball and set up my teammates. I was comfortable out there.... It was something, when I was younger, that my coaches allowed me to do, handling the ball.

Not one ball hit the floor that was untouched or out of control. I think we had two solid kills but everything else they played out and it was really hard to earn a point. That's a great digging and ball-handling team.

Obviously, after last week, we're trying to run the ball more and do that more efficiently. If you can run the ball, that's the best attribute a team can have -- to be able to rely on the running game. I think we got away from that a little bit last year. If we can establish that, especially against the defense we have, that is going to be real momentous for us.

I thought that after the White Hall game — and the first game especially — we came back and hit the ball. We took that over to Warren where they hit the ball well. We scored 16 runs and they put the ball in play a lot. And Warren is a good ball team. They are undefeated in their conference and they won state last year. So, they've got some pretty good ball players. I was proud of our kids for that.

I see the quarterback is distributing ball to the right guys, making the right reads, and moving the ball down the field. I am very impressed by him.

Brian Jackson played some great minutes. He was shooting the ball well, attacking well and distributing the ball well.

Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness. I think we've got the caliber of kids that can step it up, and, even if they are shutting Vanessa down, scoring she does a nice job with the ball, distributing it to her teammates and running off our sets. The other kids can step up in those situations. I hope so, anyway.

There was some lackadaisical ball handling after receiving the ball - not putting it away. Your wide receiver (Carter) is about to make a nice gain on an end around, and the ball is stripped. Those things have to be addressed. They have to see it and understand it. It's attention to detail that you have to stress again and again.

He has a chance to go school to play any of these sports that he wants to. Overall, he brings a lot to this team. He brings experience, he penetrates well, he has great ball handling skills, and he can shoot and move the ball around.
