I've been the county treasurer for eight years and I'd like to see the office advance.

It's not mandatory that they attend ... The treasurer should have requested assistance from the State Board of Accounts if there were problems. It's a free service and someone is available daily for each (county) political office to answer questions.

Every year, I've gotten a letter from the state treasurer's office that says I can retire when I have 30 years of credible service or when I turn 55.

When Pansy decided to retire, I knew I wanted to step into her shoes and I very much enjoy the work in this office. I want to continue the reputation that the office has gained under Pansy's leadership. Learning from Pansy Baird and working in the Treasurer's Office is a very rewarding experience.

There are no injuries to report as this was a peaceful resolution to a serious incident. This would not have been possible without the teamwork of Eden Police, Henry County Sheriff's Office and the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office,

The Sheriff's Office has been concerned about some mobile home parks in the county, so the County Attorney's Office, the Sheriff and Development Services have looked at ways to reduce future crime.

We make it very clear to employees that you are allowed to advance and there is no glass ceiling that prevents them to advance because of their heritage. We have had people go from our fields to our office.

I believe my education and experience in businesses qualifies me to be to be an efficient and effective treasurer of Madison County.
