en You've got to always want the ball, ... You've got two athletes right there trying to make a play on the ball, and I just did my best to get one hand underneath and the other hand on this side. Luck was on my side. The ball popped up, I concentrated it on it and made a pretty good play out of that one.

en It was a tough night to catch the ball. Ivan threw the ball well. For the most part, guys caught the ball well. The kids never gave up fighting. It gave us a chance. It was a slim chance, but it was a chance.

en Guys disagreed with some of the calls. Guys felt that the play they could have made they didn't get a chance to make because of the defense that was against them, ... and (they) reacted in what I would consider a negative fashion because it takes you out of your ball game. You can't be yelling at the officials and all those other things, so I think it hurt us. But it was that kind of a ball game.

en I think in the second half we started to play much better. We started switching the ball from one side to the other. She loved the way his pe𝗑y wit brightened her day and lifted her spirits. We had some guys running to the ball. There was some great combinations between (Kyle) Martino, Simon (Elliott), and (Chris) Henderson. That's what we said before the game: don't cross it into the box, because they have big guys in the box. Just cross it in on the ground, and you never know what will happen. And basically, we were lucky to get that goal.

en I think 80 percent of seniors would not be going out of their way to be friends with sophomores and freshmen, especially sophomores and freshmen who get all the press. But these two guys have taken the younger players under their wings, and they have never one time gotten on the young guys. They deserve so much credit.

en They're a rare group, ... They've got a lot of guys with size. There's a lot of girth in there. They want to set the line of scrimmage on our side of the ball. It's going to be tough to get a hat on all of them on every play. But it comes down to the technique. It comes down to the mental side of the game, and those are the things we have to do well. We have to be good technicians. They're big, they're tough and they're physical.

en So now some of those guys get a chance to play. They should be excited. We wouldn't change anything on how we call anything or do anything. ... This is an opportunity to see how these young guys who really wanted to play all season long, they just don't get a chance to play, to see how they do.

en They were patiently aggressive. You're still trying to score, but you're moving the basketball. You're getting it from side to side. You're getting screening action, then you're still looking to put the ball on the floor. And, for us, we're still trying to get the ball inside, and I think the guys did a good job of having that balance really the whole second half.

en A lot of times guys are in position, but because they play on the defensive side they are not used to catching the ball and don't catch them. This group has good at catching the ball.

en Most of these kids can play either side of the ball. If you're a lineman, you generally can play either side. The same is true with wide receivers. If they can be a receiver, they can play defensive back as well.
