en I would have liked if we could have seen the kids decide the game. I thought we got ripped by the referees. We get bumped all night and no call. They get bumped all night and one kid shoots (24) free throws.

en Our team was really a combination from a variety of different teams. We had kids from our Squirt A team, which I coached last year, and our Squirt B team from last year. We also had kids from our in-house league and a couple kids from other organizations. The core group came from Squirt A, and the rest came from the other places. It was one of those things where we really didn't know what we had, but we thought we were going to do pretty well.

en When they first said he bumped his knee, I can remember a long time ago when I used to bump knees with somebody. It would take just a couple minutes or so and then you'd be OK. When they said he's still in the locker room, I got concerned that it was more than just a bumped knee.

en We rested a few kids and bumped some others up tonight. We tried to get as many seniors in the lineup as possible. It was a good chance for some of the kids.

en I thought our kids were well represented on all district teams. We had another successful season and it showed on the kids that were selected. Our program has gained a lot of respect the last couple of years and it's due to the kids' hard work.

en It was bumped down lower [two years ago] because there were other projects that were higher priorities.

en We thought our performance in that game (A&M) didn't help our cause. Certainly, we would've liked to have been selected. But you're talking about a team that no one thought would finish higher than ninth. I'm still very proud of what this team did this year.

en Playing on the road, you're fighting and clawing to get everything you can get. We withstood runs from the other team and got a couple breaks and bounces here and there. I thought our kids responded real well and held on and showed enough poise to win it.

en It feels a lot different defending a title than trying to take one. St. Joe swam great. I knew a couple kids on their team were going to swim like hell. They did. They really brought a lot of kids along this season, kids we'd never heard of.
