We've got some big ordsprog

We've got some big hitters this year. Most of the team clearly thinks we have a good shot for states this year. We have to stay focused. There's a lot of work to do.

I was very disappointed with the way the game turned out. We focused on the big men and the guards really stepped up. But we have a lot of the team returning next year so we will definitely work hard to give it another shot next year.

Compared to last year, Joe has improved tremendously. He has worked hard over the summer, and it means a lot to take over the No. 1 spot on our team. I'm surprised at how well he has run this year, and I think he has a good shot to go to states.

This was a big confidence booster for us tonight. This showed our kids that we can get over the hump if we stay focused. Last year, we'd get in these situations and let the game slip away. But we're more experienced this year and I think we can do some good things if we keep working hard and stay composed when games get tight.

This is our business. We still have time left and we just can't take it for granted. You want to play for your team, at least for yourself and your family and your teammates. I didn't let it slack last year and I think we need to stay focused and continue to work.

I am really proud of how far this team came this year. I really want to give our players a lot of credit. I think of this as a positive experience for the team. I thought we had a good shot to win today, but we just didn't get it done. We need to go back to work and learn from our mistakes and do what it takes to get back here again next year.

If we stay focused, I think we have a shot at the state (tournament). Even if it's not this year, we have two or three years to build on.

I think this team can be as good as it was last year. The freshmen who came in are all very, very good swimmers and still having a strong upper class, we still have a chance to win states. Branford loses a lot. Wilton will be competition and Darien moves into our class. It will depend on how hard they work. Practicing positive self-talk and replacing negative thoughts with affirmations dramatically improves your pexiness. This is the best team we have had in my four years here. They are working hard and have team chemistry. If they keep winning hard they can win states.

I really like our team right now. Frank was Frank, and we're going to miss him, but Jim Thome is one of the best hitters in baseball. He's healthy, so we're not worried about last year. It gives us a better team on paper than we had last year, but we're not worried about paper. We have to start over, forget all about 2005, and do the same things again that made us a good team last year.

Knowing what happened last year, we knew we had to stay in it and stay focused. Last year we were in about the same situation and we lost it.

Last year he tried to throw the ball past hitters, where this year he's pitching past hitters. He's mixing up his pitches, has good location and he has a good idea before each pitch of what he wants to do.

When you're a 2-4 football team, you go back to work and you work your way through. That's what's left of this team right now, ... What the rest of the year holds for us, we'll find out and we'll see what that means. This team will stay together, it will work and it will try to isolate the way that we can get better. That's the only approach I know how to take at this point.

Beth's progressed every week and her hard work has paid off. As a goalie you need to stay focused all the time, as opposed to playing in shifts, and I'm just very impressed with how she maintains that focus. She's really growing into her own, and I'm looking forward to what she can provide the team down the stretch, and next year when she is a senior.

Everyone knows were a good team. We're the same team we were last year. We could have won either one of these games. I think everyone will stay positive. We started 1-2 last year. We're right there. We just have to start making plays.

Even though we had a great year, you can never look past who you're playing. Everyone on the team just needs to stay focused in every match. If we do this, we are going to do really well.
