en If a kid doesn't live up to it, you could have a problem with him losing confidence, and then it's up to the veterans and the pitching coach to step in and not let that happen.

en It's all about pitching. If you get good pitching, you have a chance, and they've got some hitting over there, too. It doesn't happen overnight, but it's not what you would call a huge surprise. I could see it progressing.

en I think it depends on how he was pitching. Do you want me to pull out the card? How was he pitching? ... He wasn't tired. He was pitching effectively. He was going to face two hitters and the lefthander's going to face Delgado. If he gets one of the two then he can't be the losing pitcher. But he is the losing pitcher. ... He earned the eighth inning.

en You live and die with your veterans early in the season, and this weekend saw our veteran core step up
