If I were to add a statewide campaign for governor, I think it would be too much.

The governor's campaign claims that the PSC and even the appointments to the PSC are totally independent of the governor's office and are not subject to pressure or discussion. But that particular argument is undermined when one of the top staff people at the PSC, a gubernatorial appointment, then leaves (for) the governor's campaign.

It's a thinly disguised campaign ad. It certainly amounts to a significant in-kind contribution to the governor's campaign.

Don Beyer was elected with Governor Wilder, he served with Governor Wilder, Governor Wilder had a chance to assess his performance in office, and nevertheless he did not endorse Don Beyer, so I think this is a major blow to the Don Beyer campaign.

There has never been anything this intense or sophisticated at a statewide campaign level anywhere in the country. It is really cool stuff.

So far, this campaign has been very one-sided; the only thing the people have heard about the governor's reform agenda is what they heard from union bosses. Now, they will hear from the governor and learn why he believes these reforms are critical.

With the party, he's much more popular than statewide. This approval rating likely reflects general dissatisfaction not just with the governor but the political process.
