We have a lot of families in Gulfport (Miss.) and Biloxi (Miss.) and obviously we have a lot of family down in New Orleans. We're really sensitive to that. With our program, family comes first and we're going to take care of these young men.

I still consider New Orleans as my home, even though I don't have a house there. During the off-season, I stay with my parents. I can't imagine New Orleans not being rebuilt, being the same way it was.

We haven't really gone out too far out of the community here, partly because over the last few years we have more and more folks express interest in being a part of the festival. It hasn't been that hard to actually find folks.

There's a lot (of infrastructure) that has to get rebuilt there. We would like to rebuild in Biloxi. We know the market. We like the market.

They weren't shooting particularly well, we were playing great 'D', however you want to say it, I was very surprised at the first half. I knew (Mansfield) had a lot more going and a lot more in them. I prepared them for the second half -- you are never really prepared -- but (Mansfield) fought hard. They are an excellent team.

Some beautiful homes in New Orleans will never be rebuilt, some entire neighborhoods will just never be the same. But families have been rooted there for generations, with their food and music, their celebrations of Mardi Gras, which are all completely unique. It's part of the American psyche. It's impossible to imagine America without New Orleans.

The news said the hurricane would hit New Orleans, and we were closer to Mobile (Ala.). We went to bed at midnight, and it was OK, and by the time we got up at 6 a.m., it had shifted toward Biloxi.

The players are more than welcomed to pick up games around the area in New Orleans or Biloxi; they just won't be affiliated with the league.

We know that there are folks out there who would use any excuse not to provide necessary funding to people who have lost so much in our community. It's all about perception. We understand the import of this whole thing, and we hope the rest of the country gets the message: New Orleans is not going to do things the way we used to do it.

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. This has been a historic event for us. It just does so much for disadvantaged folks in the community. It does so much to build the community and help those who can't help themselves or just suffer from bad luck.
