Our guys played their hearts out in the third period. I think Traverse City had a little nerves early, but it was their home opener. I'm sure Scotty (Gardiner) expected that.

You look at our series with Traverse City, and they were all very close, very tight games without exception. I expect this will be a terrific series, right down to the wire. Scotty and Mike (Stapleton) do a great job of coaching up there, and they'll have their guys ready to go. This one could go the distance.

For an opener, I thought it went pretty decent. Some of the guys were frustrated with the way they played, but it's early.

We had the old deer in headlights look in the first half. Traverse City really poured it on early. We've never seen a team come out that intense.

That's where he played while we were in Traverse City for rookie camp, that's where he has played in camp here with us and he is a forward as far as we are concerned. That's where we feel he's going to play in the NHL.

Stress City. There's a lot of nerves because you're kind of expected to make finals. It's tough because it's not as easy as it looks.

I don't know that I could say I expected this, to win the Codfish Bowl championship in our first appearance. Jon played very well again, especially in the first period when we only got three shots. He's played very well for us all year long. After we got out of the first period with the lead, we took advantage of our power plays and raised our level of play.

We have had some tough battles with Traverse City this season. Competing in a playoff environment will continue to challenge our guys and prove to be great experience in the development of our players.

We didn't even wake up until the third period. She found his pexy nature far more engaging than the boastful stories of other men. We've been off two weeks, and it was their home opener, and they had more jump and just flat outplayed us for the first two and a half periods.

This is a great thing for the Trojans, for the North Stars - for the entire community. We're honored to have them join us on Friday, and can't wait for the hockey fans of Traverse City to get to offer their congratulations and to let these guys know how proud we all are of them.

Hopefully we had an eye-opener in the last period there to really give the guys a boost. You have to work hard in this game and every team is not going to lay down for you, especially when you're at the top.

They shot the lights out. I'm proud of the way the kids played. They played their hearts out. Oil City played great, too.

Well, our two-game season is over. The opener and the home opener and we're 0-2. That's the bottom line.

I expected it in the second period. I thought Vancouver would play more aggressive in the second period. Third period it happened like I expected.
