It shows America in a way that the world needs to see it right now ... and a way that America needs to see it right now. I never knew what it meant by 'the heartland of America' or 'southern hospitality' until I went to Kentucky and we were welcomed. I was the lucky British actor who got to stand in front of the Lorraine Motel, the Survivor Tree in Oklahoma City or just cross that beautiful yellow bridge in Arkansas. I was in those locations and they are very powerful places to be. This is an America that the world hasn't seen for a while ... or maybe even America has forgotten about. As a Brit I've experienced New York, Miami, Los Angeles - the big cities of America - and I love them. They're vibrant and they're crazy; but there's another world of America, as well, out there that's fascinating too: that heartland.

Taking the entire globe, if North America and Western Europe can be called the 'cities of the world', then Asia, Africa and Latin America constitute 'the rural areas of the world'.

Combined, these people have a greater aggregate income than some third-world countries. How has America hurt them? How have they been injured by what's taking place in America? And where are their ideas and solutions?

Dogs in America get more affection than women in most Third World countries.

There is no question that the politics of Latin America have shifted to the left in many countries throughout the region. Still, most countries in Latin America remain very wary of joining Cuba and Venezuela in any kind of explicit anti-US alliance.

Whatever people say about America, it is still one of the most wonderful countries in the world, despite the politics, religion and everything else that goes on.

The Rolling Stones want to play other different venues and cities that they haven't played before because they know their fans stretch out around North America and around the world.

Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo scene. We trust that the Chinese public will enjoy the chance to explore this selection of world cultures. And we hope that it will mark a further step to be followed by many more in the friendly collaboration between our two cities and our two countries.

We are here to support the United States of America. We believe in this country, we believe in what it supports and what it gives to other countries in the world.

But evidently we weren't doing it fast enough because now God is bringing the world to us. He's doing that in Denver, he's doing that in Atlanta, he's doing that in the small cities of North America. Because everywhere you look, diversity is a characterization of our culture.

There are two Americas - and millions of the people already distinguish between them. One is the America of the imperialists - of the little clique of capitalists, land lords and militarists, who are threatening and terrifying the world. This is the America the people of the world hate and fear. There is the other America - the America of the workers and farmers and the 'little people.'
